CPP/FPC Study Group

The CPP/FPC study group is designed to help you focus, study and prepare for either the CPP or FPC exam. There is no charge for attending the study group for local chapter members.

The study group will focus on test taking as well as the updated CPP and FPC criteria for the current test. The study group is intended to be an interactive work group where your input is valued and you are expected to share and actively participate in the group.

We are pleased to announce that a study group for the CPP has been formed. The 1st class will be on July 19th at 1pm to 3pm. Anyone interested should contact Vivian Hill using the link on the left side of the site.

The exams are administered at local CAT*ASI Assessment Centers. For more information about the exam, cost, dates and eligibility visit the national APA web site by clicking on Certified Payroll Professional.

The CPP Exam has 200 multiple-choice questions. Out of the 200 questions, 175 will be scored. 25% on Payroll Fundamentals and Operations, 30% on Fundamentals for Calculation of Paychecks; 10% on Tax and Regulatory Compliance; 8% on Accounting; 16% on Payroll and Supporting Systems and 10% on Management and Administration. Test results will be available immediately at the testing facility.

The FPC Exam has 150 multiple-choice questions. Out of the 150 questions, 125 will be scored. 19% on Payroll Fundamentals, 20% on Fundamentals of Payroll Operation, 35% on Paycheck Fundamentals; 10% on Tax Reporting and Payroll Accounting Concepts and 16% on Professional Payroll Skills and Responsibilities. Test results will be available immediately at the testing facility.
