The Metro Phoenix, APA Chapter meeting was called to order on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 by Vice-President, Judy Aranyos at 6:15 pm. President Cindy Gibson is out of town on business.

Theresa Mejia is on vacation. Sue Santee read the treasures report. The beginning balance was $2992.62 Deposits of $840.00. Withdrawals of $810.42. The ending balance was $3022.2. The report was accepted and seconded by the membership.

Sue Santee read the secretary's report. The report was approved and seconded as written by the membership.

Old business:

• Vickie Dunster gave the Government Liaison Report stating that the new tax tables are available on the IRS website (www.irs.gov).
• Jeff Geisler announced that the National APA is in town working on a FPP (Fund Payroll Practice) program and on National Payroll Week.
• Vicky Harrison, State Conference Chairperson announced that the information cards were mailed a couple weeks ago. She reminded everyone that they must call or e-mail to receive a registration packet. The committee is still looking for sponsors (to print the registration packet & 3 ring binders).
• Theresa Mejia was nominated for treasurer, Vickie Harrison was nominated for President and Tran Thangha was nominated for Vice President.
• Sara Graf , National Payroll Week chairperson (Sept 3-7) participated in an audio seminar on June 5th. She indicated this is a committee event and it takes 3-6 months for proclamations. Jana Bailey volunteered to co-chair. Anyone interested in serving on the committee should see Sara.
• CPP recognition- Brenda Norman needs her pin (in July when Cindy is back)
• CPP study group meets on Friday evenings from 6:00-8:00 at Honeywell. Vickie Dunster is the facilitator.

New Business:

• The following new members were recognized: Luke Galinis & John Bohnhert (paycheckcity.com)
• Cindy Gibson designed and printed (free of charge) APA Chapter flyers that will be distributed at seminars/State Conference/etc. Copies were available for the membership. Great Job Cindy!

Next months meeting is scheduled for July 17th. There will be no October meeting due to the Arizona State Payroll Conference.

Our guest speaker was Donna Hutchison, Financial Analyst with American Express. She talked about developing a Business Continuation Plan (BCP). It was an interactive BCP project.

38 members were in attendance.
